Again, another song that got me thinking...and even if you listen to it and it seems that it's more of a love song, it got me thinking about a friend, who I haven't seen in five years! yeah, you're reading it right: 5 years...it's benn a long time and even though I can't really say we haven't kept in touch, nothing compares to when you are able to see the person, to talk face to face...so I miss her, I really miss her. If you add to that the fact that we have been friends since kindergarten and always did everything together, spent the holidays together, being there for each other, told one another everything, talked about every single feeling, you can imagine how it feels to be apart for such a long time
I finally managed to turn in the last paper, last night @ about 2 a.m. And before going to bed, I stumbled upon Sunrise Avenue's song "Fairytale Gone Bad"...and it's not bad actually...if I think about it, it's really good in fact. There is nothing wrong with admitting to yourself and the world that something ended, there's nothing to be ashamed of admitting a relationship you were in - be it friendship, marriage, romantic relationship - ended. People change, circumstances alter, characters don't stay the same and people continue to be stubborn and stay in a relationship, just because they are afraid or ashamed of letting the world know...yes, some could see it as a failure, but what are we, if not the result of our successes and failures? What would we be without our mistakes? It's the failures and the mistakes we make that help us grow and make better choices next time. So for all of you out there, afraid of giving up: wake up, cry if you have to, but MOVE ON. Like a dear friend of mine once said: You know it was good, if you are sad when it's over. Start over, but don't forget; move on, but remember why you did it.
